BPW Triangle will be co-sponsoring a session with other nonpartisan organizations to discuss how to advocate for yourself, family and community.
This session will focus on concrete skills and advice for advocacy and activism; however it will not focus on particular issues.
ADVOCACY 101: THE BASICS
Do you want to become more politically active but are unsure of how to get started or what to do? This session is designed for you! The program will include:
Know Your Rights During Marches or Protests - Irena Como (ACLU-NC Attorney)
Effectively Calling or Writing Elected Officials – Gailya Paliga (NC NOW President)
Meeting with Your Legislators – Paula Wolf (contract lobbyist for numerous nonprofits)
Writing Letters to the Editor – Dianna Wynn (LWV-Wake Communications Coordinator)

What: A nonpartisan basic skills session for the citizen advocate
Cost: FREE but pre-registration is required
