Speaker Guide

BPW holds monthly meetings and invites speakers to present on topics that are of interest to our membership. Presentations typically last 45 minutes, including a Q&A session. Our in-person meetings are held over dinner, with online meetings held when it isn't possible for us to meet in-person.

Interested in speaking at one of our meetings? Please complete Presenter Interest Form. Here's what we'll need from you:

• Your contact information

• A short biography

• Links to any websites or social media you would like us to review

• Proposed title or topic

• Proposed session description

• 3-5 key takeaways attendees will gain from your proposed session
  

• A brief summary of your speaking experience
  

What you can expect from us:

Marketing and promotion highlighting your participation before the event:

• We'll send out emails promoting the event to our local distribution list of ~500.
• We’ll post about the event on our social media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
• We’ll post your photo, session description, website, and short biography to our website.

Support the day of the event: A brief introduction highlighting your biography prior to your presentation.

• For in-person events:
• Speakers enjoy complimentary registration, including dinner.
• A computer and projection screen is available if you intend to use a PowerPoint presentation or slide deck. Please bring your own laptop or slides on a USB stick.
• A handheld microphone is also available; we ask that you use it to ensure we are accommodating the needs of our attendees.
• Distribution of your handouts or materials (we can have a table set up or lay them on attendee seats.)
  
• For online events:
• If needed, a practice session can be scheduled to allow you to get comfortable with the technology used for the event.
• Distribution of your handouts or materials (can be shared as links, as content within the session, or be emailed to attendees before/after the session).

Note about speaker guests
Speakers are encouraged to invite their colleagues and customers to the event. If they are not BPW/Triangle members, your invitees are considered guests of BPW/Triangle and are required to register online. Members of the media are considered guests of BPW/Triangle and will be expected to register at the non-member event registration rate. We cannot accept guests who do not provide payment in advance.
